Support Texas After the July 4th Floods

Over the July 4th holiday, devastating floods swept through parts of Texas—displacing families, damaging homes, and leaving entire communities in urgent need of support. As the water recedes, the long road to recovery is only beginning, and many are facing heartbreak, loss, and uncertainty.

In moments like these, small acts of generosity and service can spark real hope. Whether you’re in Texas or far away, your support can make a meaningful difference. This blog is dedicated to those affected by the Texas floods, offering guidance, resources, and ways to find hope and help. No one has to face this crisis alone—together, we can help Texas rebuild and recover.

Ways to Give, Volunteer or Offer Support

The organizations listed below provide a range of ways to help — from monetary donations to hands-on volunteering and supply drives. When possible, financial contributions allow relief groups to respond quickly and direct resources where they’re most needed.

Before heading out, always check with organizations for up-to-date needs, safety guidelines, and registration requirements. Many of the groups below are already on the ground offering shelter, food, cleanup support, and supplies — and they need our help.

  • Texas Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (TXVOAD): A coalition of nonprofits coordinating disaster relief efforts; they connect volunteers with urgent needs in affected communities.
  • Feeding Texas: Supports food banks across the state, often needing volunteers for food sorting, packing, and distribution.
  • Team Rubicon: Mobilizes veterans and civilian volunteers for disaster cleanup and rebuilding efforts.
  • Local United Way chapters: Often coordinate volunteer opportunities for immediate relief and long-term recovery.
  • Kerr County Flood Relief Fund: Established by the Texas Hill Country Community Foundation, this fund supports vetted organizations providing rescue, relief, and recovery efforts in communities including Hunt, Ingram, Kerrville, Center Point, and Comfort.
  • American Red Cross of Central & South Texas: Accepts donations to support relief efforts such as food, financial aid, and shelter. Donations can be made online or by phone at 1-800-HELP NOW (1-800-435-7669).
  • The Salvation Army: Provides emergency aid, food, hydration, and critical supplies. Donations can be made online or by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY. The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Kerrville also accepts donations of nonperishable food, diapers, cleaning supplies, and more at 855 Hays St.
  • Cross Kingdom Church (Kerrville): Started a relief fund and accepts donations both online and in person at 3044 Junction Hwy, Kerrville. They also distribute donated items to those in need.
  • Austin Pets Alive!: Assisting with animal rescue and care in flood-affected areas; accepts donations and volunteers to help displaced pets.
  • TEXSAR: An Austin-based nonprofit specializing in emergency response, including swiftwater rescue teams. They are raising funds to support ongoing rescue and recovery missions.
  • Southern Oaks Church: Organizing a supply drive for hygiene kits, baby essentials, clothing, food, and more. Donations can be dropped off at 122 Valley View, Kerrville, or given online.
  • Jester King Brewery (Austin) and Treaty Oak Distillery (Dripping Springs): Collecting physical donations such as cleaning supplies, food, water, and emergency items to be delivered to flood victims.
  • Samaritan’s Purse: Actively responding to the deadly flooding in Kerr County, Texas, by deploying disaster relief staff, volunteers, and equipment to the affected areas

These organizations provide a variety of ways to help, from monetary donations to volunteering and donating physical goods. For the most effective assistance, it is recommended to donate money to trusted relief funds and verified campaigns, as they can allocate resources where they are most needed.
